PARENTS found their son hanging in his home after forcing their way in due to concerns for his welfare.Neil Parsons, of Brendon Road, is believed to have been suffering from depression after splitting from his fiance, Zoe Desmond.A statement from his GP, Dr Sarah Bird, revealed that Mr Parsons had been prescribed anti-depressant medication a few months before his death but she said he did not have any suicidal thoughts. The 32-year-old had been engaged to Miss Desmond since 2003 but a number of issues led to them splitting around December 2006. Miss Desmond said she had been round to see Mr Parsons in the week before he died and had returned a few days later but he did not answer the door.At the inquest it was revealed Mr Parsons, a former firefighter based at Pill Fire Station, had nearly four times the legal driving limit of alcohol in his blood when he was found dead on March 5 this year. A formal verdict of suicide was reached at the inquest held on November 29 at Flax Bourton Village Hall.
