Summer rogue trader warning

PUBLISHED: 20:00 03 June 2012

A SENIOR councillor is sending out a warning telling people to be aware of rogue tradesmen that may turn up in town for short periods of time.

North Somerset councillor, Elfan Ap Rees, is asking residents not to give work to itinerant visitors offering to cut hedges, tidy gardens and lay tarmac without being sure of their credentials and being given a ‘cooling off’ period before agreeing to any contract.

He say the problem can be particularly prevalent during the summer and over bank holidays.
