WORK has started on a super pond which will form part of the Weston Villages flood defence scheme.

Builders are in the process of putting up a bridge across the Moor Rhyne and Cross Rhyne to allow construction traffic to reach the area while avoiding Hutton village.

The gang wall which divides the rhynes is used as a walkway for residents, but it is closed for the duration of the walk for public safety.

It will be closed until December.
