YOUNGSTERS in Cheddar could be living show biz lifestyles, starring in their own production and enjoying a new cinema club.

Budding actors in the village local action team (LAT) drop-in sessions have been learning lines this week for a production of Cinderella.

The children will all have equal opportunities to play leading parts and chorus, as half of them will take starring roles in a matinee performance and then switch to smaller parts for an evening show and vice versa.

The sessions at the Methodist Church Hall in Cliff Street started up again this week, after a break over Christmas and children got straight into learning their parts.

LAT chairman Jill Male said: "We wanted very child to get a fair role and this was the best way of doing it.

"As the sessions are becoming so popular we will also be asking for 50p per week to cover costs of renting the hall on Tuesday nights."

The LAT is also keen to set up a cinema club on a Saturday as there is currently no facility in the village. Anyone interested in volunteering to help out is urged to contact Jill on cheddarlat@yahoo.co.uk

The youngsters will also be treated to a pantomime in Burnham later this month thanks to Cheddar Methodist Church. The date for Cinderella is still to be fixed.
