A support group for people who are blind or partially-sighted had a visit from Weston's deputy mayor this week.
The Macular Society met at the Lauriston Hotel – which is a specialist hotel for the blind – on Tuesday and deputy mayor Jos Holder hosted a talk.
One of the key challenges the group is facing is the potential closure of the hotel as the charity which runs it has limited financial resources.
The group has set up a petition in the hope it can keep the hotel open so it can continue to use it for its sessions.
