T4 replacement will 'definitely' happen

'ADVANCED talks' are being held over a new music festival to replace T4 On The Beach and the failed Summer Sets On The Beach events next year, according to North Somerset Council.
Cllr Felicity Baker, the authority’s executive member for tourism, revealed the plans at a meeting on Tuesday.
T4 On The Beach was held on Weston’s seafront for eight years but bit the dust when Channel 4’s parent show T4 was axed at the end of last year.
This year the same event organisers, Done and Dusted, were set to put on a replacement festival, Summer Sets On The Beach, which was due to be held in association with ITV.
The festival would have taken place last Saturday, but the plug was pulled earlier this year just eight days after tickets went on sale, with the organisers citing poor sales.
Cllr Baker has promised that a festival is set to go ahead in 2014.
She said: “We are in advanced talks with a very large company and we are looking to host a major music event on the beach next year.
“Naturally I was a little hesitant given what happened to the last replacement T4 but I am assured that this is definitely going to go ahead.
“As soon as we can talk about it we will.
“It’s going to be absolutely wonderful.”
