THREE girls from Weston are putting on a talent show to raise money for a boy who suffered brain damage when he was hit by a speeding car.

Jess Taylor, aged 11 and Coral Forde and Sherie Pender, both aged 12, have arranged the show to be held at the Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue, on December 20.

The girls, all from the Bournville estate, are organising the show because they wanted to help the family of 12-year-old Brendon Ford, who was run over when crossing Marchfields Way, Weston, in October last year.

Coral said: "We want to raise some money for Brendon in case his family ever needs it to buy something for him.

"We currently have about 12 people registered for the show. All three of us will sing near the end and there will also be a surprise act."

The event will be held from 2-4pm and a 50p donation is requested upon entry.

Anyone wanting to take part in the show can pick up an application form at the Healthy Living Centre.
