CHILDREN in Portishead had a taste of the Orient as they celebrated Chinese New Year.
Reception children at St Peter's Primary School took part in the dance of the dragon and of the lion and created their own Chinese music.
Teacher, Lyn Slade, said: "The children have cooked and tasted noodles, made hats and lanterns and as it is the Year of the Rat they also made clay rats.
"They have learnt about another country and its culture, it has been a very rewarding learning experience.
