TEACHERS from across North Somerset have proved they are top class.The 2007 Teaching Awards ceremony for the West of England was held in Bath and Weston and Worle came out with four gongs.Baytree Special School headteacher, Carol Penney, accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to pupils over the years.Headteacher at Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College, Linda Heaven-Woolley, bagged the Headteacher of the Year award for secondary schools in the region.New acting head at Priory Community School, Neville Coles, was chosen as Teacher of the Year for secondary schools in the South West and deputy head at Westhaven Special School, Bernie Richardson, won the Teaching Award for Enterprise for the region.The winners will now go forward to the national finals which will take place at the London Palladium in October.
