An adult psychiatric ward at Weston General Hospital has been given a makeover.
A new clinic, quiet room and female-only TV lounge have been added to the Long Fox Unit, which is managed by the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP). The unit’s kitchen has also been modernised and its dining room and lounge have also been improved.
Modern matron Jon Williams said: “I would like to thank everyone for their hard work bringing this project to completion. In doing so, we have improved safety and hopefully made the ward less clinical and a more comfortable place to be.
“It makes me really proud of everyone – staff, service users, carers and the project team who had input into this refurbishment.”
