The mother of a two-year-old boy, who needs an operation to help him walk, is tackling a skydive in aid of his plight.

Nicola Baird will be joined by Vicki Fox, Nicola Currell and Damien Morton on Sunday to complete the 10,000ft jump near Salisbury.

The jump will raise money for Jacob Baird, who has cerebral palsy and requires a £75,000 operation to enable him to walk.

Nicola, of Milton, said she could not bear the thought of jumping from a plane but would do anything to help her son.

She said: “Everyone has done so much for Jacob these past few months and some people have really pushed themselves to their limits so I felt, as Jacob’s mum, I ought to do something myself and it needed to be something challenging.

“When it’s for your own child you would do anything to give them their wish to walk. Thankfully I have some crazy friends joining me up there.”
