A 17-YEAR-OLD from Banwell has graduated from the Army Foundation College.

Joseph Turton was one of almost 600 junior soldiers to pass out from the training centre in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. He went to Churchill Academy and Sixth Form and left there last year to pursue a career in the British Army. He had to take part in 42 weeks of phase one training and also passed exams in English, maths and IT. Joseph shortly begins his phase two training with the Royal Artillery at Larkhill near Salisbury.
