A 14-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old girl.The alleged attack took place in the Burnham Road area of Highbridge on April 9 between 12noon and 1pm.A youth on a bicycle is said to have approached the girl as she was walking home. It is alleged the boy followed the victim and raped her on wasteland near to garages between Burnham Road and Apex Park.In an attempt to track down the rapist, the girl's father put up posters around Highbridge appealing for people to come forward with information.Police launched a manhunt and arrested two teenagers, both aged 14, on April 11 and 12.Police spokesman Ian Drury said: "We are investigating the rape of a 15-year-old girl in the Burnham Road area of Highbridge."Following extensive enquiries, two 14-year-old boys were arrested. One of these was later eliminated from the investigation. The second has been arrested on suspicion of rape and bailed pending forensic analysis."We would be keen to speak to anybody who may have information about the incident."Anybody with information should call Bridgwater CID on 0845 4567000.
