A young actor has been accepted into a prestigious London music and drama school.

Hope Griffiths, from Locking, will begin an acting degree at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in September.

She beat off stiff competition to secure a place with more than 5,500 prospective students from across the world taking part in our days of auditions.

Actors including Lily James and Orlando Bloom have studied at the school, which offers just 22 places a year, and Hope is planning to follow their footsteps.

Hope said: “I am beyond delighted to have won a place at my dream school.

“I haven’t really processed it yet, but it is an amazing feeling to know I will be receiving such inspirational training at one of the leading performing arts institutions in the world.

“It will enable me to become the best actor I can possibly be.

“I feel incredibly lucky to have this opportunity.
