A 16-YEAR-OLD girl suffered serious head injuries following a collision with a car in Brean last night (Tuesday).

Police were called just after 5pm following reports of the crash on South Road, near to the leisure centre, and a stretch of the highway was cordoned off to allow a detailed examination of the scene to be undertaken.

Ambulance crews also attended the incident, and the girl was later airlifted by air ambulance to Bristol Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. Please contact the collision investigation unit on 101 if you may be able to help.”
