TWO teenagers were rescued from the mud on Weston's beach this afternoon (Fri).
The boys, aged 16 and 17, were knee-deep in the mud when they waved for help to Avon Fire and Rescue crews training on the hovercraft.
The pair had walked around half a mile out from the Grand Pier but had become exhausted as they tried to make their way back.
Firefighters helped them onto the hovercraft before returning them to safety at around 12.36pm.
The incident follows a warning not to venture too far from the shore, after eight people – including a pregnant woman – had to be rescued in July.
