A North Somerset tennis club has described a recent jumble sale as an extremely successful fundraiser.

The event was hosted by Cleeve Tennis Club and took place at the village hall, in Cleeve Hill Road.

Club members and villagers turned out to grab plenty of bargains throughout the afternoon on Saturday.

A raffle and tasty refreshments also proved popular with those wanting a break from bargain hunting.

Organiser Lyn Hawkins told the Mercury: “Our best-ever jumble sale meant friendly jostling for those extra-special bargains.

“New clothes, books, household items and toys all sold quickly, giving buyers time to sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy the raffle.”

Proceeds from the jumble sale will go towards replacing the club’s courts on the King George V Playing Field, in Meeting House Lane.
