Campaigners desperate to see a pool return to Weston’s seafront will meet next month to discuss whether the idea could be resurrected.
North Somerset Council has repeatedly said it will not consider transforming the Tropicana back into a pool complex, or building a new facility on the seafront.
Cllr David Pasley last month reiterated its position saying a second pool at Hutton Moor is its primary focus, and a seafront pool could only be created through private investment.
However, his views have sparked concern among some who feel it is in Weston’s interest for a seafront pool to be built.
A campaign spokesman said: “We would like to welcome yet more new faces along to join our team of dedicated supporters.
“We would particularly like to encourage support from people with sporting, health, and educational interests.”
The meeting will be held at The Bay Café on November 3 at 2pm.
