KEY stage two children had the chance to climb the belfry and see Axbridge’s bell-ringers in action.
Pupils from Axbridge First School in Moorland Street went to St John the Baptist Church in The Square for a talk about bell ringing.
Roy Shallish explained to the children the different bells before the branch gave the children a peel.
The bell-ringers recently came second in a competition held by the Bath and Wells Diocesan Association of Change Ringers.
