IT HAS been decided the Winter Gardens will be sold to Weston College for just £1 at a North Somerset Council meeting tonight (Tuesday).
The council has agreed to give the iconic seafront venue worth £10million to the college for the minimal fee, so it can be transformed into a university hub.
The plans for the venue were announced in October and include a restoration of the venue’s original frontage and an extra floor above the main hall.
The plans were put to full council tonight for members to cast the final vote on whether to hand over the building.
Councillors have tonight voted to give the famous building to the college.
