A MEETING to discuss the future of tourist information centres in Sedgemoor will be held next week.

The event will be held at the offices of Burnham and Highbridge Town Council in Jaycroft Road in Burnham at 7pm on January 28.

The news comes after Sedgemoor District Council revealed it has to reduce its budget and could no longer run the centres in Burnham and Cheddar after March 31.

Burnham's town council and the district authority have said they are keen to explore potential partnerships for running the Burnham service with other organisations that depend on tourism.

The original meeting was scheduled for January 6 but was cancelled due to bad weather.
