AN UNUSUAL theft left one Worle resident in hot water last week.

In the early hours of August 20, an opportunistic thief swiped a hot tub and pump from a garden in Madam Lane.

Paul Brookman, who owned the luxury item, was left in a torrent of rage when he woke to find it missing.

Mr Brookman said: “There was a space where the hot tub had been, I couldn’t believe my eyes.

“Everyone I have spoken to has been amazed at the cheek of it and quite amazed someone would do such a thing.”

The hot tub, which is worth up to £600, was lifted from next to his back door between 2-7.30am.

Mr Brookman believes someone noticed it from the public footpath which runs alongside his house. Although he has a 5ft fence, neither he nor his neighbours heard any rumblings in the night.

He has also issued a tongue-in-cheek invitation for the thief to pay him another visit, as the clumsy culprit left the box and a number of essential parts behind.
