THIEVES smashed their way into a Weston bar and made off with hundreds of pounds worth of cash and other items.

The break-in happened at around 4.10am on Monday morning when a hammer was used to shatter the front window of the London Inn in High Street.

Mark Short, the bar’s co-owner, says the thieves took around £600 worth of cash and other items from the till, while the damage to the window will cost around £250 to repair.

The police are investigating the break-in, and are urging anyone with information to contact Weston CID on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
