The beach and Marine Lake

It may be a cliché to head to the beach as soon as the sun appears from behind the clouds – but it’s a classic way to spend the day for a reason, and you are guaranteed an enjoyable day out.

Grab an ice cream from PJ’s – which has every flavour you can imagine – and relax on the sand while the kids have a go on the donkeys.

If you want to cool down, you can also dip your toes in the cool water at Marine Lake.

It features a splash pad and wooden play equipment, and adults can also get a bite to eat at Coco’s Canteen.

Find a tranquil spot

There are plenty of options when you want to get away from the hubbub of the seafront or the town centre.

The Old Town Quarry nature reserve is a haven of tranquillity, where you can enjoy a cup of tea and a cake and listen to the birds. There is also some artwork to enjoy.

The Prince Consort Gardens, overlooking Birnbeck Pier, is also nestled away from the crowds, and a great place to relax and enjoy the views over Weston.

Enjoy a picnic

Once you have been to one of Weston’s outstanding cafes and eateries and selected some food and drink to take away with you, visit one of the town’s parks to eat them.

The flowers are blooming in Grove Park, which looks stunning at this time of year, while Clarence Park and Ashcombe Park also make for lovely places to catch some rays further away from the town centre.
