Banwell Parish Council has installed portable vehicle-activated signs in Knightcott Road and East Street, to monitor traffic. The signs flash a warning to drivers if they are travelling above 33mph.

In its first week the one in Knightcott Road was activated 14,500 times by drivers, and it has averaged 12,500 activations for the past two weeks. The sign in East Street flashed 5,500 times a week for drivers travelling out of the village.
