Three North Somerset projects have received a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

Our Way Our Say, XTND and Wrington Parish Council bid for a chunk of a £5,075,689 pot from the National Lottery.

The funding will support a diverse range of projects to improve people’s lives and strengthen the community.

Our Way Our Say – a community group which works with people on Weston-super-Mare’s estates – was given £10,000 to put towards its classes, workshops and monthly days out.

Family charity, XTND, received £9,225 to hold a range of family activities.

The Weston-based charity will use the money to deliver a range of activities for families whose children have engaged in antisocial behaviour.

Wrington Parish Council was handed a cheque for £8,500 to replace a playground roundabout in the hope of encouraging youngsters to play outdoors.
