A WESTON store under threat of closure may have been saved after its parent company was bought out.
Bonmarché, as part of the Peacock Group, went into administration last week.
The women’s fashion retailer has now been bought, but 160 stores across the country are still set to close, with up to 1,300 jobs at risk.
A member of staff at the Weston branch in the Sovereign Shopping Centre who did not wish to be named told the Mercury the store is likely to be saved and continue trading.
The news comes after a spate of stores have closed or are said to be at risk in the town centre, including Clarks and Priceless Shoes on the High Street, which shut last week.
