Archant

A WOMAN was treated in hospital after being assaulted by three youths using a child’s scooter as a weapon against her.

The attack happened after the three men had assaulted her husband at about 1.30am on August 23.

The youths were reported to be shouting and screaming in Moorland Road near the junction with Walliscote Road South when one of the street’s residents asked the men to be quiet.

When he came out of his house they assaulted him before the victim’s wife tried to help.

The youths, thought to be in their late teens or early 20s, turned on her and swung a child’s scooter at her legs.

She later needed hospital treatment for a broken ankle.

The men were last seen heading towards Walliscote Road South.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 or give information online via http://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact/crime_reporting
