PUNTERS at a Worle pub have been left pining over their pints after heartless kidnappers snatched their much-loved mascot.Woody was swiped from his home behind the bar at The Woodspring, in the High Street, and is being held to ransom. The culprits are demanding 1,000 free pints.Landlords Jon and Sara Horsey have launched a mascot-hunt to track him down and are offering a reward of dinner for two for information leading to his return. The mascot is described as six inches tall, with curly black hair. Woody was last seen wearing combat trousers and sunglasses. He was nabbed from the watering hole and left in his place was a brutal ransom note reading: "We want a free bar worth 1,000 pints or you'll never see your friend again - we'll blow his brains right out."It is believed the incident took place at about 4pm on August 17.Regulars at the pub are backing the landlords' campaign for Woody's return as he often accompanies them on their holidays.Originally from New York, Woody has been photographed in a variety of places - from Blackpool to Disneyland. He is due to fly to Majorca in a fortnight, but the trip has been put on hold until he is rescued.Sara said: "We have no idea who has taken him. The regulars are desperate to have him back because he buys you a pint if you take him on holiday and take a photo of him. The bar is covered in his holiday snaps."Jon says he isn't sleeping properly because he's worried about how he's being taken care of in the nasty weather. We hope we get him back soon because he's our best regular.
