PUPILS at a Portishead drama school were surprised to see a nun in their midst when they turned up to class. And when members of the Cheryl Rowland School of Drama investigated further they found the mystery visitor to be none other than their own principal.Actress Cheryl, 45, had just completed a role in the latest Dr Who spin off 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' which can be seen on BBC1 at 5pm on Mondays. In a two part series 'Eye of the Gorgon' , Cheryl plays an alien nun flitting around an imposing abbey, opening the door to intrepid reporter Sarah Jane, played by Elisabeth Sladen and trapping her and her teenage assistants inside. Cheryl, who is a regular on the BBC Casualty set, said: "It was great to work with such accomplished actors and actresses."I remember watching Elisabeth as Sarah Jane Smith as a child, appearing in Dr Who in the seventies with both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. Although I wanted to be an actress even then, I didn't imagine I would be working with her some 30 years on." Despite her growing acting career, Cheryl remains dedicated to the School of Drama for children aged from three to 16 years of age.
