An anonymous tip-off from a member of the public resulted in a man from Liverpool being charged with drug offences in Weston.

Officers were called yesterday (Tuesday) by someone who suspected someone of drug dealing in the area. At 5.20pm, they visited a house in Shrubbery Road and discovered 42 wraps of suspected class A drugs.

As a result, a 21-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested and later charged with possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Weston’s Neighbourhood Sergeant, Mark Jenkinson said: “We receive a number of pieces of information from the public which we’ll always act upon.

“If you have any concerns about any suspicious activity, please call 101 or Crimestoppers. If a crime is happening there and then, please don’t hesitate to call 999.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the person who called us with the information.”
