GREAT Western Ambulance Service has scored top marks in the UK Customer Satisfaction Index.The service received the highest customer satisfaction index for any organisation countrywide with a score of 88.The survey was based on a representative sample of 2,000 adults surveyed over the internet in May and June 2007 by the Institute of Customer Services.It is the first ever national measure of customer satisfaction with UK public and private sector organisations.Locally Great Western Ambulance Service has received around 150 letters of thanks from grateful patients in the last six months which are forwarded onto the crews involved.Chief Executive Tim Lynch said: "Ambulance staff do a great job in what are often very stressful circumstances."They are very skilled at dealing and supporting people in traumatic situations and it is great when their good work is acknowledged by patients and their families and now in a survey such as this.
