'Tornado' spotted over Weston

TORNADOS are usually more associated with the American Midwest than South West England, but one was reported near Weston on Friday
Several of our readers contacted us reporting that the ‘twister’ was visible over the town, with Ivor Humphreys, Matthew Dancey and Adrian Moore sending in photographs of the natural phenomenon.
One reader suggested on our Facebook group that the spectacle was in fact a waterspout – a vortex that is created over water and linked to a cumuliform cloud, which is weaker than land-based tornados.
