Tourism website takeover sets visitor target

THE Somerset Tourist Association (STA) is hoping to boost visitor numbers across the region, after taking over the county’s main tourism website.

The STA has formally taken over from Somerset County Council, and has set a new target of 1.5million unique users to visit the site annually.

Bob Nicholson, chairman of the STA, said: “It is our intention to make sure that the Visit Somerset site is recognised by everyone involved in the Somerset tourism industry as a site to be proud of and that will continue to be a major contributor to the success of sustaining and advancing the Somerset brand.”
