Residents and staff at a Burnham-on-Sea residential home dressed in pink to raise money for charity last week.

Towans Residential Home, in Berrow Road, raise more than £50 for Breast Cancer Research last Friday when it hosted a fun day for the cause.

Staff and service users donned their best pink outfits, tutus and pompoms to raise money for the cause.

Two staff members put together a number of entertaining skits which left the residents in tears of laughter.

Among the other performances included an electric guitar solo from one of the resident’s sons.

Activity co-ordinator Jo Boobyer said she was ‘over the moon’ with how the event went.

She added: “This is the first time we have ever done something for this charity and we are so pleased with how it went.

“The people here have worked hard their whole life, why shouldn’t they have a bit of fun?”
