NAILSEA'S town centre shopping centre is up for sale with a multimillion pound price tag, it has been revealed

NAILSEA'S town centre shopping centre is up for sale with a multimillion pound price tag, it has been revealed.Owners Nailsea Town Centre Limited confirmed this week that the site, which includes Somerset Square, Colliers Walk, the former garage site and the car park at Stock Way South, was on the market. The garage site now looks likely to be developed after planning consent was given for a three storey building with shops on the ground floor and 14 flats over two floors. The shopping complex, which includes a number of ground floor retail units with flats and offices above, has been owned by Nailsea Town Centre Limited for the last 20 years.A spokesman for Devonshire Property Investments, which acts as an asset manager for Nailsea Town Centre Limited, said there had been interest in the site from potential buyers and that negotiations were continuing. The spokesman for Devonshire Property Investments said: "I would imagine any new owner would be similarly motivated and that the people of Nailsea will see little change to the site itself."The site is a very valuable asset and any new owner will be keen to maximise opportunities to increase the sustainability and viability of the town.
