Town centre roadworks to continue until May

MAJOR renovation work to replace thousands of metres of water mains in central Weston will last until May.
Bristol Water is replacing 4,000 metres of mains on 18 streets, with the work on Locking Road near to Tesco causing disruption to motorists travelling in and out of the town centre.
The utilities firm says the work, which is being carried out by contractors Daniel, is necessary to cut water losses and improve water quality and pressure.
While much of the work can be done without digging up roads, some, like the work currently going on in Locking Road, have required the contractors to excavate trenches which new mains will be laid in.
Bristol Water expects the main work along Locking Road to be completed by February 25, and on Clarendon Road by February 22, although other works are expected to continue into May.
