WESTON was awash with pink over the bank holiday weekend as the resort lit-up to celebrate the launch of the Midnight Beach Walk.

The town’s iconic features were bathed in pink lights to highlight the fund-raising event in aid of Weston Hospicecare.

Everything from Weston Wheel to the Old Thatched Cottage to the promenade streetlights were glowing pink from Friday to Monday evening.

Last year 900 women took part in the five-mile walk along the beach and raised more than 60,000.

The Weston Hospicecare fund-raiser, said: “The town looked fantastic this weekend.

“Registrations started coming in as soon as the 2010 event finished so we are expecting the Midnight Beach Walk to be really big this year.”
