WESTON is set to have its first roller skating disco, at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre.

Company Let’s Sk8 will hold its first session at the centre in Hutton Moor Road on July 21 at 5.30pm, and once a month from then onwards.

The nights, which are already held by the company across North Somerset and Bristol, will feature a DJ and disco lights.

Manager Nicola Schorlee said: “Roller skating is increasing in popularity as it is one of those rare activities that families can enjoy together and is a great form of exercise, which supports the Government’s attempt to tackle obesity.

“Roller skating can also burn up to 600 calories per hour, which is more than other traditional styles of exercise, such as aerobics and basketball.”
