TRAFFIC lights on a busy Weston road will be replaced this month, in a £40,000 project designed to save energy.
Lights at the junction of the Boulevard, Alfred Street and Albert Quadrant will be upgraded to modern new signals which run on a fifth of the voltage.
As well as being more efficient, the new LED lamps are said to be safer in the event of an accident, and more easily visible to drivers during bright conditions.
Nearby residents and businesses have been warned to expect ‘minimal’ delays during the three-week project, which will get under way on January 30.
