A VAN fire caused chaos to rush-hour traffic near junction 21 of the M5 this morning (Tues).

Two fire engines were called to the fire in Somerset Avenue, West Wick, between Morrisons supermarket and the motorway. No one was injured.

The driver of the EDF energy van said the fire started suddenly shortly after 7.10am.

He said: “I didn’t hit anything. I was just driving along and it caught fire.”

Police officers are still on the scene as they wait for the vehicle to be towed away.
