Weston’s Tropicana has completed its second stint as a pop-up skatepark, with hundreds of youngsters taking part over the school break.

Transend Skatepark 2 was held at the Trop for half-term, with the former lido packed with children on boards, bikes, blades and scooters.

The week drew to a close on Friday with a competition, where the thrill-seekers showcased their best tricks.

A closing party followed, with the team behind the skatepark reflecting on a successful week, which built on the success of Transend’s debut in February.

Organiser Andy Skyrme described the event as ‘fabulous’ and said plans are in place for another pop-up skatepark.

The project is led by Holy Trinity Church and there are plans to create a permanent indoor skatepark in the works.
