The WINSCOMBE and Sandford Millennium Green Trust held a talk about parish life during World War One.

The trust remembered the men and boys of the parish who were killed in action and unearthed archive photos of the Strawberry Line during wartime.

Speaker and trust chair Lois Brenchley said: “The talk really brought home to me the trauma suffered by a generation of young men and their families at home in our small, close-knit parish.”
