THE colleagues of a 23-year-old who died last month have paid tribute to a ‘promising’ young man.

Ryan Davis died on December 22 in East Huntspill, the village where his parents live.

The Weston and Banwell Young Farmers member worked for Ashworth Farm Machinery, of Draycott Road, Cheddar.

He joined the company in 2009 and worked from its Nether Stowey branch, Inwood Farm.

One of his colleagues told the Mercury this week: “Ryan was a valued addition to the team.

“His knowledge of agricultural engineering, combined with his passion for farming, made him a promising and well-respected technician who will be sadly missed by his colleagues and customers.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”

Ryan, a popular young man, was previously chairman of the Weston and Banwell Young Farmers group.

North Somerset Coroners Office confirmed this week that he died following a fatal dose of medication. An inquest is due to be opened into his death.
