A WELL-KNOWN solicitor, described as a 'kind and generous' man, has died.Paul Penney, a partner at Gordon and Penney in the Boulevard, Weston, passed away last week after a short illness. Judith Mills, a partner at the firm, said: "Paul was committed to his work and clients and he was a strong believer in doing the right thing. He had a keen sense of justice."He couldn't walk down the road without three or four people stopping him and saying hello."He would like to think the business that he helped to build up over the years will still go on in the future."We have received numerous tributes to Paul from magistrates, other professionals in Weston, lawyers and clients. His staff were very fond of him and he will be missed by us all."Mr Penney, a keen sailor, skier, diver and tennis player, lived in Bristol. When he was younger he studied for a degree in botany and zoology in London before going on to take a law course at the University of the West of England in Bristol.He had been a solicitor for 27 years and 24 of those were spent at Gordon and Penney.
