Trio to bid for hospital

THE three health trusts vying to take over Weston General Hospital have been given the chance to present their case this week.
University Hospitals Bristol, Somerset Partnership and Taunton and Musgrove Park NHS foundation trusts have been sent tender questionnaires in the latest step of the procurement process.
The trio will need to explain to Weston Area Health NHS Trust (WAHT) bosses how they intend to run the hospital from next April.
WAHT will be dissolved by Parliament next year because it is not large enough to meet new health reforms and will be acquired by one of the three neighbouring hospital trusts.
The deadline for the tender documents to be submitted is later this month. The winning bid will be announced in October.
