THE Tropicana could be rebuilt now that it's been saved from demolition - but don't bet on it.

Bookmaker William Hill has outlined the odds on the derelict pool being redeveloped, but rates it likely that the building will remain exactly as it is now.

The betting chain’s Rupert Adams gave the Mercury odds of 4-5 that the building will still be sitting empty and derelict on Christmas Day 2018 – making it the odds-on favourite of three options. The chain also offered odds of 3-1 that the building will be demolished by that deadline, and 5-1 that it will be rebuilt - meaning a £500 bet would return £2,500 if the pool was redeveloped in that timeframe.

Mr Adams said: “It’s odds-on that the building is in its current state in five years’ time.”
