Terrible artists from around Somerset have been invited to submit their worst artwork for the Turnip Prize spoof.

The prize was launched in 1999 by Trevor Prideaux as a satire of the Tate Modern’s Turner Prize.

Entries will be open from Tuesday until November 21 and judging will begin on November 22.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony at The New Inn, in Combe Batch in Wedmore, on December 5.

Founder Trevor Prideaux said: “We see around 60 to 80 people enter from all over the country.”
