FOLLOWING a successful auction on eBay, two Turnip Prize entries were presented to the winning bidders last Monday. Morley Howard, from Burnham, bid a staggering 99p to get his hands on 'Torn Beef', the winning entry in this year's competition for an appalling piece of art. Morley was handed the empty can of corned beef at The New Inn, Wedmore, on Monday. He also kindly donated £10, which will go to the village hall. He told organisers he would give the art piece as a present to his wife for their 10th wedding anniversary. Captain's Log, the runner-up in the context, was purchased by Lindsey Craig for £2.75, who also donated £27.50 to the village hall.* Pictured: Turnip prizewinner Ian Lewis and A.V.aitor with eBay bidders Morley Howard and Lindsey Craig.
