A SOMERSET garden designer has teamed up with TV's Alan Titchmarsh in a competition to find the county's best amateur designer.

Weston’s Mark Walker is working alongside disability charity Pluss to offer participants the chance to win a unique print from the former Ground Force host.

He said: “We’re looking for designs for a garden that is easy for people who are less able or disabled to care for.

“The adult winner will be presented with a unique print drawn by world-renowned, television presenter and gardener, Alan Titchmarsh. The winner of the children’s section will receive a selection of seeds.”

Entry forms can be picked up from Sanders Garden World in Brent Knoll and all submissions should be on no more than five sheets of A4 and the actual garden size should be no more than five metres squared.

The competition closes at 5pm on October 1 and entries should be dropped off at the garden centre.
